I am going to be going with some family and friends (five people total) to a Cirque du Soleil show in Chicago this December and need to find a nice place for dinner after the show. The theatre is located at 175 N State St (Google Maps).

The show is from 1 - 3 p.m. and then we were planning on just walking around downtown for a while until dinnertime. So the restaurant does not have to be in close proximity to the theatre, but just so you know the general area we will be.

I would like to find a place that is nice/fancy/upscale but not overly expensive. I was thinking that entrees in the $20-25 price region would be acceptable. I would prefer a local place and not a chain, if possible.

I've tried to search online but it seems like I only can find places that are either way too pricey or else just typical chain-fare.

Thanks

basically, im being taken to one of them for my birthday, and want to know if the food is significantly better at either, approx. price range for each, and if the difference in price is worth it....I guess price is my main question - they said they don't mind spending a few dollars, but i wouldnt want to waste other people's money any more than my own
