Brownies ~ edges or middle?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that enjoys cooking.

When I was raising my kids, I had a rule anytime I baked a cake or made brownies. Whoever ate the last piece had to wash the pan, plate or whatever. That guaranteed that there was always a piece left for me! LOL

I was thinking about buying this pan

Any thoughts, experiences?

I'll take any brownie, any shape, any doneness, any time. :pig:

Put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top and I'll be your best pal forever.

That's an interesting pan K-girl. But it wouldn't be worth the investment for me.
Cutting your brownie from the pan is 1/2 the fun. Sometimes you want big and sometimes you want small. And we can't forget the times we simply must have just 1 more "little" taste. ;)

Plus it would end all the squabbling over who got the bigger piece.

For some reason it just seems wrong to me having them so perfectly sized and shaped.

K-girl, a friend of mine bought that same kind of pan for brownies. All she's used it for so far is mini-meatloaves because they like them that way so much!

I guess you guys are right
It is better to just make brownies up in a pan
and then cut them up how every you like

A made a batch for our Anniversary dessert tonight
and jazzed them up a bit this time.
I made our favorite Hershery's recipe
and sprinkled a 1/2 cup each of
chopped Pecans and Dark Chocolate chips on top (they melted nicely)
once they were cooled
I cut the 7 X 7 inch pan into 16 pieces
(a little smaller than I usually do)
melted some Vanilla Candy Melts
and drizzled the tops
DH was over the Moon, I'm so glad
I plan on sharing some with
Mr & Mrs DF tomorrow

Lol, I never thought a topic like this would get so many replies. I feel unworthy here just thinking about buying store bought brownie mix.

Heh. Don't ask about recipes for boiling water, hard boiled eggs, or ice cubes!
