Ingredients: (Makes 32 brownies)
1 bag (14 oz) caramels, unwrapped
1/4 cup milk
1 box betty crocker original supreme brownie mix (with chocolate syrup pouch)
water, oil, and eggs (called for on brownie mix box)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (6 oz)
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease bottom only of 13 X 9 inch pan with shortening or cooking spray.
In 1 1/2 quart saucepan, heat caramels and milk over medium-low heat, stirring frequently, until melted and smooth.
In medium bowl, stir brownie mix, chocolate syrup, water, oil, and eggs until well blended. Spread in pan. Drizzle caramel mixture evenly over batter.
Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts.
Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until edges are set.
Cool completely, about 2 hours.
For brownies cut into 8 rows by 4 rows.
Store covered at room temperature.
