I love those super quick recipes that only have a few ingredients. But, of course, I'm always game for more!

What do you make that has 3 ingredients? (ps - salt and pepper can be added without the count)

Here's one I really like:

Zesty Chicken
-------------

6-8 chicken thighs (or 4 chicken breasts)
6 white potatoes, cut up
2/3 bottle Kraft Zesty Italian Dressing (Zesty free works too)

(ps: admins - I put this in "misc", since I wasn't sure what recipes may come out of this - feel free to change!)

Put all in a crockpot and cook on low 6-8 hours.

CAPRESE SALAD!! (Insalata Caprese)

Fresh Mozzarella (preferably of Buffalo milk)
Tomatoes
Fresh basil leaves

Slice up the mozzarella and tomatoes, arrange them on a plate and sprinkle with basil leaves, s&p... one of the life's simplest and most gorgeous treat!!

(though for a option, you could drizzle some good evoo, too)

P.S. Jkath, I moved this thread to Today's Menu & Food Talk, as this deals with diverse recipes in general...

My new favorite

1 cup peaunt butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg!
Mix together. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto
cookie sheet (I like silpat mats best) and criss cross with fork.
Bake at 375* for 12 to 16 minutes until golden brown.
Let stand a couple minutes on the pan before removing so
cookies can "firm up".

Once cooled, dip half of each cookie in melted dipping chocolate.
(Thanks to Jkath for this one. My family loves them)

In the same vein as Urmaniac's salad:

cherry tomtoes, halved
olives of your choice (I prefer kalamatas), squashed and depitted
red wine vinegar

Scatter your tomatoes round, followed by the olives and sprinkle over some red wine vinegar. Lots of pepper as well.

The good thing is you can take this basic salad in any direction from this basics. You could add some torn up fresh milky mozzarella, some basil leaves, sprinkling of dried/fresh oregano or thyme, crumbled dried chilli etc etc

1 loaf french bread
4-6 cloves garlic
EVOO

Peel garlic & slice.
Split bread loaf lengthwise.
Top with garlic & EVOO.
Broil till toasty.

Good recipes, you guys! I like the salad ideas... mmm.

Here is my recipe:

Instant Corn Chowder
canned corn
canned cream of celery soup
onions

Directions: saute onions in a pot... add in the soup (and water if using the condensed variety) and corn. Stir and heat through. When heated, remove 1/2 of the soup and puree before adding it back.

Here are two of my favorite 3 ingredient appetizers:

Salsa poured over softened cream cheese with tortilla chips

or

Mexican velveeta heated in the microwave with a can of chili and served with tortilla chips. This was a huge hit at the SuperBowl party I went to.

jkath, Italian salad dressing is also great as a marinade for tri-tip.

isn't it though!!!!!!!!

I knew you'd jump in on this thread - we seem to think alike!
Speaking of cream cheese.........

I love a block of cream cheese with a small jar of hot pepper jelly over it, with wheat thins.

jkath, i can smell that one from here. holy cow, that's some garlic bread.

i racked my brain for three ingredient dishes, and besides buffalo wings (wings, frank's red hot, butter), and portugese shrimp (shrimp, garlic, onion, sauteed in evoo with salt), i'm stumped.

Black Bean Soup

Two cans Black Beans,rinsed/drained
One can Rotel
One Can Chicken Stock
(S&P)
Heat and puree
Puree

Peas (fresh or frozen)
chicken stock
mint

Such a simple soup but one that can be taken in various different directions with just the addition of another 1 or 2 ingredients. Maybe a bit of ham/bacon/pancetta or some parmesan, some potato maybe? Chuck in some risotto rice and suddenly your making that Italian peasant food stable Risi e Bisi (you will never guess what that means).

The gods must have really bad breath then

Maybe I am holier than I though. I could put garlic in just about anything. Good thing my wife is the same way :)

I was gonna say hops, barley and water, but that leaves out the main ingredient, so I guess I can't add my favorite recipe here... :(
