Beautiful pics, everyone!

I had another 'nibble' tray this afternoon. I love having an assortment of foods that I don't have to cook on these warm summer days, plus, it doesn't mess up the kitchen. I'll probably actually cook something tomorrow.

A good sized handful of fresh picked cherry tomatoes from my little patio garden, chilled marinated asparagus, the last few slices of smoked salmon, roasted red pepper hummus with pita chips, and a couple of fresh figs that my neighbor brought me this morning.

Strawberry ice cream for a little later.

Grandchildren fill the space in your heart you never knew was empty.

K Girl, I can well understand your love of your birthplace. For the one year I lived there I fell in love with the harmony of their music. I kept track of wherever the Boy Choir was giving a concert and singing. You can bet I manage to get to just about every performance they sang at. Music is my first passion in life. And when I hear perfection, I just have to listen to it. But it always bothered me when I would see some blonde hair, blue eyed kid singing or dancing the traditional music and dance of Hawaii. They just seemed so out of place. I would always asked myself silently. "Yeah, but can they climb a coconut tree like a true native can?"

I would love to see you post a reply in your Native Tongue with the translation following. Just giving us the names of the foods you make for you and hubby is not enough. Let the rest of us have a taste of Hawaii other than food. I wonder just how many of us would be able to pronounce the words. Most of us do not know the rules on your native language.

One time I asked someone to tell my how to pronounce a word. "Easy, just pronounce every letter."

Illegitimi non carborundum!
I don't want my last words to be, "I wish I had spent more time doing housework"
