The rainbow cake looks good. I usually make the green one with yellow. Never tried other colors. This week I made congee and fried rice.

I made another food last weekend, it's called Toupi. It's a food in southern China. It has three layers. The first layer is fried by mixture of flour and egg. The second layer is steamed sticky rice. And the last layer is stir fired chips made of Toupu, pickles, meat, etc.

This looks yummy! I wud love to eat this. Can we substitute Meat with anything vegie?

Asian thread to meat substitutions

If you are a vegetarian

I would suggest

1} maybee mushrooms like portabello and shiitake stir fried with ginger and sesame oil

2} I like seitan or tempeh meat substitutes, tempeh is usually a little more dry or texture-y with the oats or fillers they use

3) firm green vegetables like broccoli , asparagus, fiddlehead ferns, gai lan, bok choy ect

if not a vegetarian

rock shrimp or diced prawns or shrimp

monkfish

lobster, langostino or crawfish

chicken thighs would be nice

I might be interested in playing around with it can you PM me the dough recipe
