Will do, Alix. I will look up mom's and also look at the one in my Times Picayune Creole cookbook - you know, that old one both crewsk and I have.

thanks for splitting this off, MJ.

Is everyone still on for Cajun this weekend? I'm just bringing this thread back up to speed. I've got the shrimp ready for the gumbo and switched to jambalaya instead of red beans and rice, or dirty rice. Happy cooking this weekend ya'll.

We are having Cajun food for the SuperBowl. So, I will be making it on Sunday instead of Saturday. Along with the usual dips and appetizers we are having shrimp and sausage gumbo and maybe jambalaya.

Shrimp Creole recipe for Alix

Could not find mom's recipe OR one in the Times Picayune cookbook (which surprised me), so I posted a basic recipe in Ethnic Foods.

I also put a Creole-ish corn and crab bisque in Soups.
