Checklist - no surprises!
I'm sure a lot of us have things lurking in the pantry that we only break out once or twice a year during the holidays .... mainly certain herbs and spices. Now is the time to "check" them to make sure they are still good. While dried herbs and spices will all lose potency over time and we can compensate by adding a little more ... sometimes they also go rancid. Oils also go bad.
Don't know what prompted me to taste all of those little jars on the wall this morning .... but I got a few nasty surprises!
