I know it might be a bit premature, but after a successful fishing trip out onto Lake Erie, I think I'll be baking and deep frying a mess of these walleye fillets and sharing with the neighbors.

Oh, yeah, I still have to clean them.:LOL: The neighbors have been invited and they will bring the sides of potatoes, cole slaw, fruit salad and dessert. YUMMO!!!!!!!!!

Why do they call them walleyes?
:LOL::ROFLMAO::LOL:
I gotta get a boat again.

dinner may well be crab with boiled taters & cob-corn.

or delmonico or buffalo steak. me & jake decided to ultra CLEAN sunday, till stuff's spotless. so those & mussels, & other meats & cheeses & stuff goota be consumed soon!! we're out of room fer new food.

I gotta get out fishing again, so if you get a boat Pacanis I'm tagging along! But um, those don't look like the Walleyes we fished growing up. Must be a different type in the Great Lakes than in the lakes up north (we used to go to Lake In The Woods)? Or was that Northern Pike? Or am I just confusing the heck outta myself???? LOL.
Either way, great catch man!!!

I say we all show up in Mentor for a fish fry!! But with that many you could also do a fish boil... that would be sweet.

When I was 6 I was quite the fisherperson! I used to catch lake trout in Northern Saskatchewan like they were going out of style - made all the men around jealous

But now I catch my fish at the local market. Tomorrow (Saturday) it is going to be grilled salmon served with bacon wrapped asparagus done on the grill and fresh tomatoes.

lol, lp. my wife does something similar.

she kicks my butt when it comes to crabbing down the jersey shore. i set out several traps, she uses a hand line. and she still catches more.

i just chalk it up to professional courtesy...

Gee, I don't recall getting my invitation "neighbor"??? I'll bring the plates. lol
I'm still waiting for my bil to bring me the perch he said he had a ton of. I love it cuz he cleans and filets it for me.

We used to fish as a kid with a drop line over the boat, caught tons of sunnies, but never very big, thank goodness or we may have lost fingers,
but you sure could feel them nibble the line, was fun. I kid my Dad I thought we were too poor for fishing poles, another ancient fishing tool.

my husband now spends 8 hours at a time on the lake, and I don't have the patience for that, so I stay at camper. Carolyn

fishing memories are priceless.
my dad was a sports type guy.
probably still is but who knows.
as a little girl, we'd camp at San Simeon every year.
always, we'd fish.
cast our lines into the huge waves, and pray for perch.
they never failed us, wonderful to catch, better to eat.
fun times.

Walleye, sunfish, rainbow trout - brings back memories of growing up in MI.

This afternoon, we're going to a neighbor's cookout. I'm making a modified Greek peasant salad (because I'm a vinegar freak) with chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, feta cheese and red wine vinaigrette with oregano fresh from the garden. If I still have some pepperoncini, I'll throw those in, too.

c'mon down. We'll leave the light on for you so you can find the house.

Well, as much as I would like to come too I don't think it is a good idea....after my little faux pas in the baking thread your DW might just slap me silly with one of your fish! :ROFLMAO::LOL::-p

I looked at the picture and I could smell the fresh fish. I haven't fished since I was in Africa many years ago.

Our dinner was fish (caught from the freezer prebattered) and chips followed by blackberry pie - DW and kids went blackberrying this morning.
