kads, sunday dinner is the cornerstone of a great family. i'm happy to hear yours is as solid as bedrock.

i grilled tonight. (ever so) plain chicken breasts, filet mignon, jalapenos and onions.
dw made steamed string beans and baked spuds.

i made a red wine and crimini sauce to go with everything, making a fond by browning the fat and sinew leftover from the beef, adding some minced garlic and onions, then deglazing it with a fruity merlot, and finally using that to simmer some sliced crimini mushrooms.

it was delicious on the meat, but especially so on the grilled veggies.

We had fried chicken, potatoes, gravy and slaw.
