...lala land..............
well...so no one's eating?
that's nuts.
I'm eating out but don't know where as I am about to go for a walk with a friend and she and I will track down a place where we'll dine in a few hours.
neither of us is hungry at this minute but later will be wonderful.
oh, it'll be in MSP

Have a great Saturday.............................

Burgers, potato salad and a green salad too. Dessert is ice cream with either fresh raspberries or a brownie. Mmmmmmmm...or both!

Kim went to his son's wedding in Florida, and came home with 10 lbs of grouper fillets and 3-4 lbs mahi mahi.

Tonight, he's going to fry up a couple of the grouper fillets for sandwiches on toasted buns. Actually, one fillet is enough for at least two sandwiches, so we'll have extra for lunch tomorrow. I can't wait...I've been craving grouper so long!
On the side, we'll have a small salad with marinated artichoke hearts, crumbled bacon and chunked beefsteak tomato from our garden. (I bought a big jar of Caramia California style marinated artichoke hearts last time we were at Sam's, and they are really tasty. I even use the juice from the jar for salad dressing.)

Hickory smoked Pork Spare Ribs (trimmed to St. Louis style), Potato Salad, and Baked Beans. This seems to be screaming for corn on the cob as well, but I forgot to get any. I forgot to get lettuce too, so no salad either....bummer. And I really wanted to do a balsamic vinaigrette tonight….I even bought some Roma tomatoes and red onion, and FORGOT the lettuce!

Now that I’m talking about those ribs, I better go out and mist them with my mop spray and check the coals and wood.

filet mignons on the grill ... probably going to melt some blue cheese
crumbles on them .. baked red potatoes rubbed with olive oil and lots of
herbs .. tuna pasta slad i am working on .. and a small side salad ...
finally cool out today ...

Getting some of the things ready for tomorrow. So tonight it's going to be ciabata, sliced the long way down, some of the insides removed, then filled with some nice thin sliced ham sauteed in some butter,,topped with lettuce, mashed avocado, onion rings, tomatoe sliced and a sprinkle of evoo and vinegar..some chips and something cool to drink..Ice cream if dessert is wanted later.

Hi, I am new here. I made corn muffins for dinner tonight, that was the extent of my culinary creativity! At least I didn't use a box mix, right??? :chef:

I told my 8 year old they had about a pound of sugar in them and he said through bites, 'These are really good!' Some success there since he is a picky eater!

Iv'e just eaten Sunday dinner ( at midday on Sundays here) and had chinese 5 spiced sticky pork spareribs with rice, a big bowl of miso soup with wakame ( yes, its Japanese and I am mixing cuisines..lol) and a bowl of sliced sugared tamarillos with greek yogurt. Nap time soon! :)

Would be easier for me if people start this thread, that they put the date in the title, rather than "today, Saturday", no offense Lefse. Anyway we had boring old breaded chicken breasts and mashed.

Marinated some veggies, grilled them; marinated a London broil, grilled it and sliced it, also grilled some bread, tossed with pasta and fresh mozzarella (oh, didn't toss the bread with the pasta - only the veggies and meat) :chef:

i made the irish chicken stew again, by request, but it sucked. i didn't have mushrooms, and i used too much rosemary. the whole parsley/sage/rosemary/thyme combo wasn't balanced.

i'd guess i have a lot of lefgovers 'cause no one else is gonna eat it.

I'm eating a plate of fried chicken and french fries at midnight. Crew meal at work sucked hard today. One of the guys made a pasta with chicken, tomato sauce, and Tuscan white beans which could have been good, but his sucked ***.

We tried a new Japanese restaurant last night. It was some of the best sushi I've had and is a new favorite that we'll be visiting often. I had tuna sashimi over sticky rice, miso soup, and prawn tempra for a starter.

Well, since Saturday was our 18th wedding anniversary, husband & I went to a local upscale Italian/European eatery we hadn't been to before - & it was FABULOUS!!!

Husband started with the She-Crab Bisque (which was so full of lump crabmeat it was almost like a stew), while I had the Hot Antipasto, which consisted of 2 huge oysters on the half-shell baked "casino" style, 2 mushrooms stuffed with lobster, & 2 grilled shrimp. Boy was that good.

We followed with husband enjoying the Shrimp & Scallops Marinara (jumbo shrimp & jumbo sea scallops sauteed in a white wine garlic marinara sauce & served over homemade Angel-Hair pasta. I had one of the specials - Tournedos of Beef Au Poirve with Crabcake - a large fork-tender filet thoroughly encrusted with cracked black pepper served on a bed of wine sauce, along with a huge (like 4"-5" across) crab cake that was 100% lump crabmeat. No filler.

We finished with husband having the Key Lime Pie, while I enjoyed the Creme Brulee.

What a lovely evening, & now that we know how terrific the food (& service, & ambience) is, we can't wait to go back.
