You can tell when my pantry is bare, because I'll make the darndest things. Last night's experiment was raspberry scones made out of Belgian waffle mix, shortening, sugar, baking powder and some vintage frozen raspberries that were salvaged during a deep dive into the freezer.

Actually came out darned good! What's IN Belgian waffle mix, anyway?

i don't know what it contains. but your make-do dessert sounds yummy. i copied a scone recipe for scones yesterday. gonna make tomorrow, i think . i have frozen blueberrys.
