We have such fun neighbors [emoji2] A couple down the street has started a new hobby of making candles out of liquor, beer and wine bottles and they're calling for help with emptying the bottles [emoji38] They're providing snacks, too. I may have a salad before I go. DH is doing his Friday-night golf with friends for the first time this year, so he's on his own.

I'm trying to decide what to make for supper. I'm thinking I might make some tuna salad and make a sandwich.

Reminds me of the time some decades ago in a former neighborhood when our neighbor's refrigerator failed. It was summertime, and they invited everyone over for a refrigerator wake, as they had to cook a freezer full of meat before it went bad. As I recall we emptied a lot of wine and beer bottles in the process.

Himself did a Chinese food pick up tonight. Spring rolls, shrimp and cashews, veggie fried rice, and mu shi shrimp. Lots of leftovers!

We had another appointment in town
so we stopped at this little burger shack,
no really it's a shack, with only outdoor seating.
Five tables, that's all, but it was such a
beautiful day it just felt right.

We each had a CheeseBurger, DH had fries
and I had Onion Rings. YUM!

When we first got to this place DH was not
too sure:"Maybe we should go somewhere else"
NOPE!
I'd heard about this place, with their hand-shaped,
fresh ground Beef patties and killer Onions Rings.
Everything was cooked to order; VERY small kitchen
with Mom & Daughter at the helm.

After DH polished off his Burger (and couldn't finish his Fries)
he admitted that this was a good call and we needed
to do a repeat soon!

They also have handmade real Ice Cream Milk Shakes,
but we were just too full.

I only ate half of my Burger, so that'll be my supper,
and then there's all sorts of bits&pieces for DH.

I'll do a half recipe of http://www.discusscooking.com/forums/f21/goooood-chili-relleno-casserole-74641.html
and make some Mexican rice on the side along with roasted asparagus.
EDIT: SC wants to clean some shrimp to add to the mix, so that will be the new experiment.

The shrimp was a tasty addition, but it was kinda gilding the lily. It's good just plain too. It was nice for both of us to be on the mend and enjoying a decent home cooked meal for a change.

Yummm...
