The tomatoes this year are terrific. A suggestion for slicing the "mutant" looking brandywines and cherokees. And actually any really juicy tomato. Don't slice horizontally, but instead slice vertically. You don't get the classic pretty cross-section of tomato but you get a very meaty slice. It is particularly good to do this when making sandwiches out of any tomato--there is much less liquid lost.

Green Zebras are too good for words!
They are wonderful. The ones I got were sweet with a tart aftertase. They left you wanting to go buy more.

Now I'm mad! I have had little success with any heirlooms except Brandywines, and they were not all that spectacular. So I decided not to bother this year!

I do have some heirloom cherries this year and they are good, but not wonderful.

I read that Big Boys are now considered heirlooms -- anyone else heard this?
