Last Monday, Sept 24th, my favorite American winemaker, Mac McDonald, and his wife Lil came into town to receive an award from BCA and so were able to join us Monday night for dinner at Chez Julia. Mac brought along a preview bottle of one of his 06 Pinot Noirs to taste!

The Ménu:

Parfait of Duck and Goose Livers with whole wheat toasts
Veuve Clicquot Vintage Brut 1998

Deviled Rabbit with Sweet Italian Sausage and Roma Tomatoes over Braised Leeks
Sautéed Haricots Vert with Garlic
Vision Cellars 2006 Pinot Noir, Los Alturas Vineyard, Santa Lucia Highlands

Salad of Frisée and Arugula with Oregonzola Cheese and Hot Sugared Pecans in a Fig/Onion Vinaigrette

Peach Cobbler with Cinnamon Ice Cream
Vision Cellars 2006 Riesling, Santa Lucia Highlands

A great time was had by all! :D

I love to cook (and to eat) rabbit. It's no more "thumper" than last night's pork chops were "Porky Pig!" and it's even lower in fat and cholesterol than chicken.

It came out great. In fact, I had the last piece for lunch today.

That sounds like a match made in heaven!!!!:)

Sounds lovely! Thanks for sharing the details!

Guess what I found in my wine "stash"? A bottle of 2004 Vision Cellars Santa Lucia Pinot Noir :chef:
