I was inspired by the Coronation Chicken thread so it's chilling in the refrigerator for dinner and I'll serve it on a bed of fresh spinach.

I used leftover Costco rotisserie chicken and added golden raisins to the cooking ingredients. Very tasty indeed.

What's going on at your casa?

I spelunked some frozen ham, it's currently in the CP along with some maple syrup. No idea what to serve with it.

Hamburger and rice tonight. I keep putting off going to the store and now I'm out of onions. Criminey!

Sort of a use up bits and pieces night. We had leftover hot and spicy Roger Wood Lumberjack Sausages, fresh corn (off the cob), fried green tomatoes, and iced tea.

Our tomatoes are producing nicely and this batch of fried greens was particularly good. Better enjoy them while they're here.

We really like this brand of sausage and can only get it at our market infrequently. I'd simmer-cooked a bunch of big, fat (like brats) links in barbecue sauce yesterday. Turned out pretty good. Needed to use up the sauce and it was a decent experiment.

Tomorrow we'll start anew and my plans are to make chiles relleneos. Only have a bunch of quite large banana peppers from the garden. They'll have to do.

It's been a grazing afternoon here. I've been on a cleaning binge here most of the day, which has involved going through my file cabinet and lots of shredding. UGH I'll be so glad when that's done.

I've been nibbling on a tray of assorted cheeses, crackers, a couple of different kinds of pickles and olives, a deviled egg, and fruit. Ice cream and a movie a little later.

Bratwurst steamed in beer, then tossed on the grill, pickled beets from the Polish deli in town, and cabbage braised with onions and bacon, simmered in beer with a splach of cider vinegar. Topped the brat sandwiches with Bertman's mustard and sauerkraut.

Dinner tonight at the Thirsty Perch in beautiful downtown South Haven, MI. I had - ta da! - perch! :ROFLMAO: My mom had whitefish. It was delicious :yum:

Bonus: sunset over Lake Michigan.

Everyone's meals as well as experiences sounds wonderful.
We spent a lovely afternoon at the winery here at "the gateway to the Grand Canyon" with Mr & Mrs DF's.
What a lovely day.
Good friends, food and wine.
Between the four of us we shared a beautiful cheese platter,
Grilled Polenta cakes with a Mushroom Ragu
and a gorgeous Chicken Salad with house made Pita squares,
oh and the wine was excellent!

Take out pizza. My half had mushrooms and onions, the other half had pepperoni. So, so. I don't think we will get it from there again. :( Our favorite pizza doesn't deliver.

Great pictures of food and scenery tonight!!

In addition to the Coronation Chicken salad tonight, I decided to make a small pot of cream of mushroom soup. I used shallots sauted in butter, around a cup of dried wild mushrooms, simmered in some white wine with Better Than Bullion mushroom flavor and some chicken broth. Simmered it all for about an hour till the mushrooms were tender and then used the stick blender and added TJ's shelf stable heavy cream. Delish.

Sliders with some of the freshly ground beef that Craig did yesterday and most of the potato salad that was leftover from the crabs.
