agree, seems to sweet for me too. I would say a different flavor, a strong flavor elsewhere

Actually I'm past the spicy-sweet salmon and sweet potatoes. I was thinking of doing a cedar plank salmon and couscous.

Is it accurate that German Rieslings are the best or are there good varieties from other places as well? I've tried a few Rieslings from my grocery store and I thought they were good but not great; but maybe I just did not get the right type.

German Rieslings are not "best," they may be the best known. There are excellent Rieslings from Alsace (France) Austria, and the Finger Lakes region of New York. Your wine merchant can help you choose the one that would complement your meal best. :)
