thank you, msmofet! That is not barley, it's just Minute Rice . I threw that in for a about 20 min before I served the soup. The other ingredients are sliced mushrooms, baby carrots, yukon gold potato, seasonings, beef, red onion, green onion and homemade broth.

I have made pasta with cheese and broccoli. It wasn't your conventional mac-n-cheese. I used penne pasta with montery jack cheese and parm on top.

A little kindness goes a long way.
