I think I got it. You're calling them trash trees because they don't live long in Texas and become eyesores. You should come up with a term that doesn't make it sound like it's the tree's fault.

I actually didn't invent the term, as GG said. It is very commonly used here to describe trees that grow fast and die early.

BTW, sorry for the thread-jack. It was on my mind so I typed it. The weather led to "downed tree," which led to indoor cooking, which led to BLT.
