That sure looks tasty.

thanks, taxy. not the greatest focus on the last shot.

btw, the green stuff is a kind of raita, probably cilantro or mint raita, i think.

That sounds familiar. It tasted like there was both cilantro and mint in it. Funny, I dislike both cilantro and mint, but this, in small doses, was pretty good.

I did some Googling and it looks like that's what it is, unless it's cilantro, mint chutney ;)

Raita seems to have yogourt and this definitely didn't have yogourt. The other sauce was mostly yogourt.

Raita is a yogurt sauce. Easy to make.

Raita

1 Ea Seedless Cucumber
1-2 Tb Mint, minced
1 tsp Ground Cumin
¼ tsp Cayenne Pepper
TT Salt and Black Pepper
2 C Yogurt

Peel and seed the cucumber. Grate it using the coarse holes on a grater. Place the grated cucumber into a strainer over a bowl and leave it to drain for 30 minutes. After the 30 minutes, press the cucumber gently in the strainer to remove more water.

Combine all the ingredients and refrigerate for an hour to allow the flavors to bloom.

that's a good basic one, andy. but there are dozens of types of raita, from spicy, to veggie, to fruity.

they all include yogurt, though.

outstanding tom,truly outstanding:yum:!!

I was too tired to think about what to cook. I was too tired to walk a block and a half to Casa Grecque. So, I phoned Tandoori Taste and ordered the house biryani, tandoori mixed grill, and some roti. I drove to pick it up. It was awesome.

We went out for dinner last night. I decided it it was time we finally tried the Irish Pub near by. Great choice! The portioned were big and the food was really really good. Appy's were a large basket of onion rings (fresh and homemade), and a dish of banger bites (chunks of Irish sausage battered and deep fried served with a Guinness Gravy). For the main course So had a vegetable boxty and I had bangers and mash with cabbage, carrots and more Guinness Gravy.
