It's thanksgiving today, but Nick and I celebrated on Saturday in Montreal. Tonight I am making a cheese fondue with pears, polish sausage and bread... and for main course we're having seafood fondue with swordfish, scallops, and shrimp with mushrooms to dip.

Saph, that sounds awesome! We both live in Canada so you are right around the corner from me....right?

Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian friends! I knew yours was before ours but didn't know when.

This week we are trying to rid the fridge of perishables because we're taking a road trip to Florida. So today is baked potato and a salad.

Cheeseburger and fries using left over Hamburger steak.

Rib roast stuffed full of garlic cloves and rubbed with a spice rub I found in a western cookbook called A Cowboy in the Kitchen by Grady Spears. The roast turned out wonderful: tender, juicy and the rub just had the right of amount of spice and heat. With the roast I had a baked potato and Brussel sprouts.

Dinner 10/12/09:

Homemade pizza dough topped with tomato sauce, fresh chopped parsley, ripped fresh basil leaves, fresh chopped garlic, onion, green pepper, mushrooms, cooked crumbled Italian sausage, grated romano cheese, grated parmesan cheese and mozzarella.

We went out. I had the most awesome chicken penne with a garlic pesto sauce with mushrooms and wilted basil. I could not finish HALF of it but brought it home. No turkey this thanksgiving, but that's okay!

I have been craving ribs and the weather has not been coopertive for grilling. I made these Key West Ribs in my slow cooker instead. I use pork back ribs cut up into 3 rib pieces. When they were done I put them on foil lined cookie sheet, cooked down the sauce with a little Kitchen Bouquet and basted the ribs and baked them 15 or 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
