I'm making a bacon cheeseburger potato pie with some kind of vegie on the side..... tossed salad to start things off.

This is the pie I'm making. I have everything all measured out... just waiting for Mark to get home... It's still early though, only just after 4 pm.

Steamed cabbage and carrots and some 'lil smokies. (not the best dinner for my return to DC...but hey..what can I say)

Broccoli and beef with jasmine rice. Later, I will have a piece of Chocolate Chip Banana Cake for dessert.

Oven BBQ ribs with dry rubbed and homemade BBQ sauce, doctored canned baked beans. I didn't put them under the broiler. So tender the bones fell out.

Rubbed ribs ready for the 1 - 1/2 hours in the oven

After saucing and 1/2 hour in the oven

With baked beans on the way to my tummy!!

thank you vb. ribs were on sale $1.99 lb. so we picked up 2 packs. 1 is in the freezer. the pack tonight was $11 and along with the beans and fixings for the meal i think total was about $15.00. it fed 4 people at about $3.75 a person. not bad.

am trying out a new recipe. pork loin in the crock-pot. has red wine, onion soup (dry kind) water and soy sauce. finely chopped garlic on top. still need to get busy on pumpkin crumb cake. may scone later.

it is pouring down rain. that always makes me want to bake. and cook.

the pork was very tender and moist. but way to much salt, the soup and soy. i don't use much salt when i cook. feel there is enough naturally in food. maybe one could use a lower salt soy. gonna check out the soup as well and maybe sub something else.

I guess it's a different kind of shepherd's pie. To me, shepherd's pie is beef with vegies in a gravy topped with potato.
