No cooking here tonight. Buck and I have to attend a 50th anniversary Lions Club dinner. Locally catered, which usually means barbecue of some sort with all the fixins. In other words, same old, same old.

Almost makes me miss the old Amway days with the banquets of "mystery" meat meals.

Yep. I was right. Barbecue sandwiches, barbecue ham, barbecue ribs, barbecue chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, hashbrown casserole, dessert, sweet tea.

last night was grill night.

i made blackened angus london broil, teryaki marinated pork tenderloins, and sweet red peppers. dw made mashed taters, steamed mixed veggies, and corn on the cob.

everything was very good, but i'm getting really bored with the dry rub i used on the steak. it works well on chicken and pork, but it's only so-so on beef. the searing burner made it nicely blackened, however, while the middle was still nicely extra rare.

the teryaki marinated pork tenderloins were a huge hit. deeelicious and tender. and i love a good, grilled, sweet red pepper.
