I made green beans very similar to Patty1's for thanksgiving. Put in juice and zest one lemon and 2 spoons dijon. Figured it could be served room temp. My BIL nuked it to warm it and it was still good.

I think either the Balsamic or Cider vinegar is ok. If you put in the sugar, I would use cider vinegar for a little bit of sweet sour tartness.
