Scotch and Bourbon are both Whiskeys. Scotch whiskey is from... um, Scotland. Bourbon is whiskey from Kentucky.

That was my point - I only have those whiskeys, and they are kept there only to cook with.
When somebody asks for a "scotch on the rocks", they usually don't specify scotch whiskey. And speaking of scotch, I keep that on hand for making a true butterscotch, for that butterscotch pumpkin pie. A family member gave me a bottle of it, and told me that I wouldn't have an excuse not to make it!
