I had a totally sleepless night thanks to my hernia acting up - can't see the specialist until February and that is only the initial visit. Surgery is not likely for a year after that.

Anyway, onto better things. I went to the store and picked up a rotisserie chicken and each of our favourite salads. TB's is of course Greek. Mine? Bacon & Blue Cheese Potato!

What are you having?

Thinking my fingernails. Otherwise it will probably be salad and leftovers.

We had chicken katsu kari, it was really nice and every one enjoyed it.

We voted for burgers on the grill. SO fried up some peppers and onions to top the burgers along with the usual suspects.

@ Dawg. Fingernails huh? It's all over with Florida. ;)

I'll be grilling outside free of the talking heads on TV.

Marinated thighs and a veggie grill basket is the plan.

Balmy weather for November (60's inland, low 50's right along the coast from a sea breeze). Still, inspired to make a summertime meal, even though it will be dark before dinnertime. Burgers on the grill, oven fries, coleslaw.

Another "cleaning out the fridge" meal here. Today was grocery shopping day so, after a meal of leftovers tomorrow, we'll begin anew on Thursday.

I'm ready for Mother Nature to act more like nearly the middle of November. I'm sooooo ready for soups and stews it's not even funny.

It's Two Meals Tonight

Tonight is Mr & Mrs Landlord's night to work late, so I have a meal ready for them and one for my husband and I.

For our upstairs neighbors, I've got a casserole dish full of Spaghetti Squash Parmesan (photos later). I've never made this before, so I put together a small dish of it to taste :pig::yum: that's tasty! I cooked the squash to a crisp-tender, tossed it with olive oil, s&p and some fresh Basil. I'll put the dish together once they get home by topping it all with some Marinara, Mozzarella and grated Grana Padano and a final flourish of fresh basil.

And for us two downstairs, I have a nice pot of my rendition of Chicken Chili atop steaming white rice :yum:

I did a replay of last night's dinner. Only instead of baked potato, I served green beans. I offered spaghetti or porchetta/porketta--my Dad opted for porchetta. Could've knocked me over with a feather--his most favourite meal is spaghetti. He'd like it at least once a week if not more often.

I roasted a red and a yellow bell pepper, chopped them, and added them, with some rinsed and chopped canned artichoke hearts, to a jar of Alfredo sauce.

Mixed the sauce with frozen cheese-filled tortellini and served it with garden salads and toasted, buttered no-knead bread. Yummy dinner :yum:

We went to a mostly seafood shack here on Fort Myers Beach. We started with conch fritters (four for Himself, two for me), a bowl of shrimp and corn chowder (a few spoonfuls for Himself, the rest for me), and our dinners. He had fried local grouper, fries and coleslaw, I had (8) coconut shrimp with fries and coleslaw. We each brought half our dinners home, except we ate all the slaw.
