I have leftover split pea soup with dumplings. And I am going to make little meat balls in a sweet and sour sauce with "kasha" and "varnishkes"....buckwheat and pasta shells....red wine.....no dessert...only have that when we have company to dinner.

I used the recipe from the Joy of Cooking years ago and think it's one of, if not, the best I've ever eaten. I love the stuff.

We're having bean and barley soup that I made yesterday. (It's always better the second day)

We're chopping up the leftover Sunday Roast, potatoes, onions and carrots and adding the next-to-the-last quart of homemade vegetable soup. It's so cold here today - add a skillet of cornbread & that oughta do it.

That sounds good. It's just me tonight, so I will heat up some leftover lentil soup.
