Agree with advantages of some GM crops.

A similar problem exists with bananas - there is
1 species of banana which is responsible for the vast majority
of world wide banana production and it is so suceptable to
a disease it is also scary. Panama Disease: A Classic and Destructive Disease of Banana

Also yields will be down due to dry winter and spring. It won’t be just the bread that goes up in price. Feed wheat for livestock will go up and consequently meat prices will rise.
