IN - Indianapolis .. King Gyros, East Street
I get to the South side of Indianapolis about once a month for a flute circle I belong to.
I always make sure to pop into King Gyros for a Gryro on the way home. It's about 3 miles towards town from 465 on East street. They really know how to make a good one. The meat is sliced off the cone of gyros meat, they crisp it up a bit on the grill LOAD it onto a hot grilled pita, smother with fresh sliced onions, some tomato and a bunch of really good Tzitziki sauce... There's really are the best I have had, including ones from nice greek restaurants. |

King Gyros is a chain, I believe, that's native to the Midwest. We have one in Marion, my hometown, too. And I agree, best gyro I've ever had. As well as the best feta cheese. I always order several sides of it to take home with me, because I can't buy feta in the store that tastes half as creamy and mild.
