we're heading down there to do some fishing in a few weeks. i can't wait. it'll be my boy's first time on an airplane, a boy howdy do i need a vacation.

tia for any tips or suggestions.

Everything is touristy! Take 41 east to 29. Make a right. just before the bridge into Everglades City (Ochopee) turn right and go to Grimm's Stone Crabs. You will not find better quality nor freshness! If you feel adventureus, take 29 north a few miles to Jayne's Scenic Drive on the left. It's rugged, but you will see a lot of local wildlife!;)

ah, love Marco Island, have not been there for about 10-12 years. Oh my, way too long. I know I need vacation bad.

thanks, craig. i'll check them out. the last time we were staying on sanibel we almost ran over an alligator near the nature preserve. i wouldn't have wanted to get out to see if it was ok, lol.

charlie, it's been 9 years for me. i can almost smell the gulf already.

BTW, Grimm's isn't a restaurant. They will crack the claws for you and they sell mustard sauce.
