Texas, Rusk, Palestein and Texarkana

Going on a trip in September, from Houston to Texarkana through the East Texas Pineywoods.. and looking for good places to eat.... as well as things of awe to see in East Texas.

We will ride the train in Rusk, and hear there is a Country Music Show in Texarkana--

I'm in the planning stages now. Figuring best viewing route, motels and eateries..

Check out Los Pinos Ranch Vineyards - winery - restaurant (live jazz every fri and sat night)- bed and breakfast - Pittsburg

Don't know if it's too late, but there is the Texas Forestry Museum in Lufkin. This weekend is the Texas Blueberry Festival in Nacogdoches (where I live).

I also meant to say visit the Big Thicket National Preserve. They have some neat pitcherplant bogs.
