Ever since I tried this dressing up in Maine this summer I have been trying to duplicate it. I think I have finally gotten close.

If you have a favorite homemade ranch dressing please post it.

Dill buttermilk ranch dressing

1/3 cup yogurt
1/3 cup sour cream
1 1/2-2 T. mayo
3 T. buttermilk
2 t. white vinegar
few drops lemon juice (maybe 1/4 t. or so)
fresh dill (I think I used about 2 heaping tablespoons)
1 shallot chopped
1 large garlic clove chopped fine

optional: pinch of sugar

Whisk together

Looks fantastic abjcooking, dill was a taste that grew on me as I got past childhood and now very fond of it. I think this would practically work as the dressing for a potato salad made out of new or "baby" spuds - thanks for sharing it with us :)
