Delicious salad with pears, shaved asiago, and toasted cashews
I apologize for the vague instructions, but this is how I cook! This is my favorite salad, it's what all my friends ask me to bring to parties!
Here it is:
shaved asiago cheese (or you can use another hard italian cheese like parmesian)
sliced red pears
toasted cashews (I toast them briefly in a skillet, be careful they cook quickly!
(optional: dried cherries or cranberries)
The dressing is a simple balsamic vinegarette. Mix olive oil, balsamic vinegar, chopped fresh garlic,chopped basil, chives, brown mustard (just a little),salt, pepper and a bit of honey, let the flavors blend for a while before dressing the salad.
