Sherbet Salad

It's been so hot the kids are wanting something cold and sweet for dinner salad. A friends mom gave this to me making it for tomorrow. Will see how it goes. dissolve 3 packs of orange gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water; add 1 cup cold water, and 1 cup of juice from the drained fruit, which are 1-no.2 can crushed pineapple,2-small cans of mandarin oranges and 1 pint of orange sherbet plus 3 sliced bananas, top with whipped unsweetened cream.

My mother used to make a lime sherbet-cottage cheese-pineapple salad. I hated it! It was the cottage cheese that put me off (although I love cottage cheese).

I hated cottage cheese as a kid and now like it but these drinks with lime sherbet make me gag they are so sweet. but I do like this salad.
