I like the combination of ideas here. I think I will do the fresh breads and a fruit arrangement around the breads. sounds good to me.

I did the melon inside a melon thing one year and it was a hit. Who doesn't like fresh fruit? Also did fruit kebobs one year, very easy and eye-catching.

Here's a great fruit dip to add to your fruit:

I am not much on measurements:

Equal parts heavy duty mayonaise & sour cream
Marashino cherry juice
Honey
Fresh garlic
A touch of cayene pepper.

my family has a get together every year that is big enough to be called a sort of a reunion.

last year, i made a huge pot of manhattan clam chowder that everyone loved. soup makes a really good starter/appy at pot lucks that a lot of people overlook.
not a drop was left.
it would go really well with your fresh bread.

i'll post the recipe if anyone's interested.
