My grandmother used to bake fruit crisps and then transfer them to plastic storage containers for freezing. I don't know if she used parchment paper under them to do this or not. Is that what I would use or is parchment only for short baking times like cookies??

Thanks!!!

Parchment paper is for baking items that are prone to sticking. Not just cookies. It can be used to line a pan for baking brownies and then used to lift the brownies out of the pan for slicing.

It's expensive so wax paper may be a better choice for storage.

parchment is also excellent for creating a steam seal on a pan with a lid for long simmering stovetop or oven. Cheaper than foil.

You can buy bulk parchment from restaurant stores.

Wouldn't the was melt off the paper and into the crisp??
Good to know parchment has other uses!! I learned something new today!! Thanks!!

I was suggesting wax paper for storage, not baking. However, before parchment, wax paper was regularly used in the oven.
