Actually Rice Krispies are not gluten free. They are wheat free, but they contain malt flavoring which contains gluten. For someone on a gluten free diet this could make them sick.

For the OP who mentioned using a mix, there is a brand called Cherrybrook Farms (I cannot post links, but you can google them) that makes gluten free/casein free/peanut free cake, cookie and pancake mixes. I have found them in several small local health food stores, Whole Foods, Earth Fare, and even my local Kroger.
