Soy Sauce and Gluten Free

I'm going to do a stir fry for some friends, one of whom has Celiac disease, which means she can't eat wheat. My soy sauce lists 'wheat' as an ingredient. Someone recommended 'wheat free' tamari as a substitute. Will Tamari change the flavor drastically or is it essentially the same thing as soy sauce?

Tamari is a type of soy sauce. It is a little different in taste but the diff. is not dramatic.

I use tamari instead of soy sauce and I can't really tell the difference.

We use San J Tamari sauce and the taste is not much different. At first we did notice a little difference, but it's quite good once you get used to it.
