what to fix for dinner? i'm adept with French meals while they prefer more subtle meals. dagnabbit.

Which holiday are you referring to? And, a good test of chef-abilities is being able to adapt to all sorts of situations. I'm sure if you can master french techniques, you'll be fine with a crown roast of pork...or something along those lines.
