Chocolate and Whiskey Liqueur Recipe
So I was drooling about this photo in Food and wine mag a while back, and I made this for the family over the holiday weekend, and they were crazy for it! Here is the recipe with a few tweaks...
1/2 cup heavy corn syrup
1/8 cup water
1 vanilla bean, split and seeds scraped
or 2 T vanilla extract
4 oz bittersweet or dark chocolate
14 oz sweet cond. milk
1 1/2 cup cream
1 cup irish whiskey
Heat syrup, water and vanilla to easy boil, and add chocolate, stirring until melted. Let cool. Add milk, cream, and whiskey, (strain vanilla beans if desired) and chill until ready to serve.
