Coquito The Secret Spanish drink one should Experience

One thing about being on an island that it has its own unique, foods, plants, and culture. This drink follows in this theme being popular and traditionally from Puerto Rico. The beauty of this beverage it's ingredients are quite easy to find and it is even easier to make. Please leave a comment if you like the recipe. Please read it before you attempt it. I have added 2 optional ingredients for a thicker egg nog type drink usually made around Christmas time, for a non-alcoholic version simply do not add rum.

28 oz Coconut milk
1 cup Rum
14 ounces Condensed milk
A pinch of salt
½ cup water
(Optional to make Christmas Style egg nog)
4 egg yolks
vanilla to taste
½ tsp. cinnamon

Take all your ingredients put them into a blender and mix them. Then take the mixture and pour into a glass pitcher or bottle. Let it refrigerate for several hours or best overnight to make sure flavors set nicely. Then serve in a glass.

Important facts and tips
You can vary this recipe from changing the cinnamon to nutmeg. The 1 cup of rum might be a little lite for some ,you can add more rum to your liking for this drink, just remember your liking may not be to others' liking. If you are going to entertain to add a little style you can add a cinnamon stick in the glass which gives a unique presentation and gives your guest or client something to stir their drink with rather than a spoon. The ½ cup of water makes this more mix drink like a white russian, with out the water is like a heavier cream which might serve with a dessert.
