Would like to share a drink I devised. I love kumquats, and the same for martinis. So here it is...
Kumquat Martini
Take several kumquats, pierce them in numerous places all over with a toothpick or fork, sharp enough to make holes, but minimum other damage.
The kumquats will eventually be on a swizzle type stick to put in the drink, like the olives are...I like about three/drink, but then, I love kumquats.
Soak the kumquats in citrus vodka for at least 30 minutes or more.
Then use the citrus vodka and make a martini, however you like, dry or not so dry...then pierce the kumquats on the swizzle stick, put it in your drink, and perhaps a thin slice of lemon on the rim.
Wheeeeew! After a few sips of your kumquat martini, pop one of the kumquats in your mouth and chew it up. Most people pucker up and then let out a little holler and laugh.
