Hi there,
just wondering how it is in other countries!
Drinking behaviours aren't that different between europe
and US after all I know! But still interesting!
Do you have a wine-cellar? Some wine you ALLWAYS
have in stock?
It's common in most of europe that you have some wine or
beer for "everyday" usage.
In france or italy you have a house-wine which is served to
about every meal, also in some parts of germany(in mine too!).
It's mostly a rather cheap(but not bad) wine (in my case "Trollinger",
$5,00/bottle).

Do you have something like that?

(being curious)

I can vouch for ronjohn!! I would love to see it all in person though!

Around my house we don't keep wine. I am the only one who will drink it & I don't really care for it that much.

In Europe ( the Mediterranean ) wine is very common. It's not uncommon to drink it on your lunch break at work. In the US you would be fired for that!!! In Britain ( I know we are technically the EU - don't ask, it's complicated :D lol ) we drink a lot less wine. Beer is the drink of the day and it's not with every meal.

madb, my habits are about the same. I keep several bottles (ahem!) of Chilean cabs and New Zealand Chardonays on hand...just in case. (Only about ten bottles total, though. But I keep a rather wide selection of...shall we say...other liquors of a whisky variety on hand, as well.

I can certainly vouch for Ronjohn's collection, madb! Even though I've never seen it personally, alas, I've heard that he's well stocked!

@John
OK! There are others who have a similar
situation... I thought it was just me who's crazy...

@Leaf Storm
We don't drink wine or beer on our lunch break all the time.
In most companies alcohol ist absolutely forbidden.
I'm glad I'm not working in one of those. :LOL:
Sometimes I enjoy having a good beer on a business lunch,
Especially my foreign customers like that too...

I know you don't! I didn't say you did. What I said was that "Mediterranean countries" do that :) Being Spain, France, Italy and so on. Somebody else said Germany. The northern European countries are very similar to Britain in drinking attitudes!
