hmmm, i like the idea of german whites.

if riesling's the way you want to go, look for one called a piesporter goldtropchen. not the michelsberg, but specify goldtropchen. gut stuff.

I skimmed through this thread and apologize if this has already been said. Ask her what she likes in a drink...Sweet, fruity, strong etc and go from there...If she likes something strong and you make her something sweet you're going to do more harm than good :)
