If you like bitter beer, be sure to try some plae ales from the Pacific Northwest! It's like drinking hop resin in a glass.

Seeing you're from Ohio, you might look for Bell's Two-Hearted Ale (Out this time of year from Kalamzoo Brewing in MI), it's another very aggresive one!

I just HAVE to post in this thread!

I'm really wondering if anyone here knows one of them.
But a couple of years ago I actually found a bar in NYC
that had "Warsteiner". I was really happy after six weeks
away from home without a beer... But it did taste a little
different than I'm used to.

My favorites are:

- Augustiner Hefeweizen
- Sanwald Hefeweizen
- Warsteiner Pils
- Augustiner Helles
- Tannenzaepfle / Rothaus

- Becks is drinkable but not among my favorites

Hi madb!

Buckytom isn't here, so I guess that makes me the resident US beer geek on the site today...

I can happily say that have HEARD of every beer on your list, and have manged to find about half of them.

I love a good Warsteiner, and am fortunate enough to have it on tap locally, as well as available at my local beer store.

Can't really say much on the Beck's though - I tend to avoid it...
