I have dabbled a bit in roasting, and, while roasting each day may produce the best tasting coffee, it just is not practical. Roasting is a hands on project, and it takes a while. Home roasting can be fun, To do it well, it requires equipment and time. Volume over a couple of pounds work best. Coffee will freeze for a short time, but you should not continually open the frozen bag. Beans sweat and retain the moisture. Store in half pounds or pounds, and once opened, store in a dry dark place.
For most, I think the best course of action is to find a high volume retail roaster, and purchase beans roasted.

If you want to learn more about home roasting, check out Sweet Marias site. A lot of their roasters will roast less than a pound, and they are the Penzy's of the home roasting world.
