Green Smoothies

Having a hard time getting your daily greens in? Try a green smoothie! They are so healthy and easy, just a regular blender will do for most of them. Make sure you blend the fruit & liquid first then add the chopped greens.

Yesterday was:

2 cups baby spinach
1 ripe mango
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup frozen berry of your choice (I used raspberries)

220 calories, 4g protein, 7.2g fiber, 53g carbs, 1.2g fat

Today was tasty too:

1 banana
2 cups kale
1/4- 1/2 cup water
1/3 cup fresh blueberries
1/3 cup frozen raspberries

221 calories, 6.5g protein, 9.5g fiber, 52g carbs, 1.7g fat

You could also add protein powder. I love the high fiber in them!

I usually buy lots of frozen fruit - mango, strawberries, peaches, and raspberries mainly.

Whatever I feel like that day, I always throw two bananas in and one more frozen fruit, then a couple of scoops of low fat low cal chocolate ice cream and fill it with milk. Then I use my Braun hand blender in the cup until smooth.

My favorite is a crapload of raspberries and banana with chocolate. :)

Another spinach smoothie today with raspberries, mango and I added vanilla protein powder. No juice though, made it with water instead. Tasty indeed!
