I really don't bother with nuts, except when it comes to two, pecans and walnuts. The only reason these give me problems is because my mother doesn't like them. Now I've heard it doesn't matter what you substitute nuts with, but I find that a problem right now because one of my holiday cookies will be a root beer cookie. I don't really know how root beer tastes like or what it tastes good with, but a lot of my friends love root beer which is why I picked them. Could anyone give me a tip on a good pecan substitute for these cookies that isn't walnuts?:ermm:

It depends upon the recipe whether or not you can leave out the nuts. If the nuts are a major part of the structure or not.

I can't imagine root beer cookies. I have heard of chocolate cola cakes, though. So--who knows.

Good luck.

Hazelnuts seem like something that might go with rootbeer cookies.

Mel:)

Maybe macadamia nuts? Almonds (chopped) sound pretty good to me, though.
