Substitution Coconut Milk?
Making a German Chocolate Cake today.
The recipe calls for Coconut milk 8 oz.
Will Evaporated Milk do just as well?

Thankies
Munky

It may work for the cake but the flavor will be all wrong. Coconut flavor is a key component.

I use Evaporated milk in the icing/frosting...Buttermilk in the cake --- However, like Andy said...the Evaporated will work in lieu of the Coconut milk called for in your recipe.
