Hi,

Has anyone baked chicken in the oven in a Foodsaver bag? Did it work?

FoodSaver bags are NOT rated for the oven and that kind of direct heat and I think would be dangerous. Only special "oven bags" should be used for that purpose.

Thanks much McNerd and Cooper's Mom!

I thought that was the case, but I was hoping.

Another agreement with McNerd. According to FoodSaver:

"FoodSaver Bags are safe to freeze, simmer or microwave ... "

Food Saver bags are not like Reynolds oven bake bags. Even the texture is different between the roaster bags and Food Saver bags. I would not bake in a Food Saver bag any more than I would bake in a Zip Lock bag.
